2.Postal Deposits comprise post office savings bank deposits, post office time deposits, post office recurring deposits, other deposits and post office cumulative time deposits.
3.Financial Institutions (FIs), here, comprise IFCI, EXIM Bank, IIBI, SIDBI, NABARD, NHB, TFCI and IDFC.Since October 2004, data on Fl's do not include that of IDBI reflecting its conversion into a banking entity.
4.Since July 2001, the term money borrowings of the FIs comprise borrowings from corporate and others.
5.Since August 2002, Term Deposits include CP and Others.
6.Estimates of public deposits are generated on the basis of returns received from all NBFCs with public deposits of Rs. 20 crore and more as had been  recommended by the Working Group.
7.While L₁ and L₂ are compiled on a monthly basis, L₃ is compiled on a quarterly basis.
8.Data from 2003-04 onwards are provisional.  Wherever data are not available, the estimates for the last available month have been repeated.
