The Reserve Bank of India has notified on September 7, 2006 that Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd., has obtained the approval of Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) and decided to restrict the overall foreign shareholdings to 24 per cent, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) taken together, with a ceiling of 14 per cent for FIIs. The Reserve Bank has further notified that its monitoring limit for investments in this company would be 12 per cent for FIIs and 22 per cent for overall foreign investments.
