The Reserve Bank of India on August 4, 2006 has notified that no further purchases of equity shares of Television Eighteen India Ltd., should be made on behalf of Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs)/Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) through stock exchanges in India. The Reserve Bank has stated that Television Eighteen India Ltd., has reached the overall limit of 26 per cent of its paid up equity capital.
