Lending and Deposit Rates of Scheduled Commercial Banks - January 2023
Data on lending and deposit rates of scheduled commercial banks (SCBs) (excluding regional rural banks and small finance banks) for the month of January 2023. Highlights: Lending Rates: The weighted average lending rate (WALR) on fresh rupee loans of SCBs increased by 02 basis points (bps) from 8.86 per cent in November 2022 to 8.88 per cent in December 2022. Sectoral Deployment of Bank Credit - December 2022
Data on sectoral deployment of bank credit for the month of December 20221 collected from 40 select scheduled commercial banks, accounting for about 93 per cent of the total non-food credit deployed by all scheduled commercial banks, are set out in Statements I and II. RBI imposes monetary penalty on Ilkal Co-operative Bank Ltd., Ilkal, Karnataka
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed, by an order dated January 23, 2023, a monetary penalty of ₹1.00 lakh (Rupees One lakh only) on Ilkal Co-operative Bank Ltd., Ilkal, Karnataka (the bank) for non-adherence / violation of directions issued on Income Recognition, Asset Classification, Provisioning and Other Related Matters – UCBs. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers vested in RBI under the provisions of Section 47 A (1) (c) read with Section 46
