Note :

1. In the union budget 1999-2000 a National Small Saving Fund has been created in the Public Account of India. Under the new accounting system, investments from the Fund would be made in Central and State Government securities as per the norms decided from time to time by the Government of India. Therefore the figure for Small Savings and Provident Fund since 1999-2000 relate to Centre's Small Saving only and prior to this period the figures represent both Centre and States/UTs together.
