Asset Liability Management System – Submission of Reports to the RBI

Please refer to our circular DBS.FID.No. C-11/01.02.00/1999-2000 dated December 31, 1999 in terms of which the ALM Guidelines for the FIs have been prescribed. In paragraph 6 of the circular it had been stated that in regard to furnishing of the data to RBI on an ongoing basis, a separate communication would follow.

2. As the ALM guidelines have been in operation since April 2000, and the ALM system in the FIs has stabilised, it has been decided to obtain the data regarding the liquidity and interest rate gaps of the FIs as a part of the extant off-site surveillance system. Accordingly, you may please arrange to submit a hard copy, along with a soft copy (as a MS-Excel file) in a floppy diskette, of the Liquidity Statement and the Interest Rate Sensitivity Statement, prepared in terms of the RBI guidelines, to this Division at quarterly intervals, with effect from the quarter ended June 30, 2003, so as to reach us not later than 30 days of the end of the calendar quarter to which the reports relate. The first set of returns for the quarter ended June 30, 2003 may be submitted to us at the earliest but not later than August 31, 2003.

3. The development of customised software to facilitate submission of the aforesaid returns to RBI is underway which would be provided to you in due course.
