Dear Sirs,

Loss of GR Form/EC Copy of Shipping Bill

          In terms of paragraph 6B.1(i)(b) of Exchange Control Manual, the exporter should lodge within twenty one days from the date of shipment, among others, the duplicate copy of GR Form alongwith shipping documents or the EC copy of the shipping bill together with Form SDF, to the authorised dealer named therein, for collection/negotiation of the documents. Authorised dealers are advised that in cases where the duplicate copy of the GR Form/Exchange Control copy of the shipping bill, to which the Form SDF had been appended, is misplaced/lost by the exporter, they may accept another copy of duplicate GR Form or EC copy of the shipping bill together with Form SDF, as the case may be, duly certified by Custom authorities, prepared by the exporter for collection/negotiation of documents.

2.    Authorised dealers may bring the contents of the circular to the notice of their constituents.

3.    The directions contained in this circular have been issued under Section 73(3) of the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1973 (46 of 1973) and any contravention or non-observance thereof is subject to the penalties prescribed under the Act.
